I came across this video on youtube. It stars balloon twister Mark Byrne. This short film is the intro for the balloon twisting instructional DVD, "Bad To The Balloon" Issue Number One.

It follows a renegade biker balloon artist as he teaches how to make balloons cool. His goal in creating balloon hats is to make then fast and make then great. Most hats take 45 seconds to 2 minutes to create.

There is a detailed twist menu for beginners. If you can make a decent teddy bear, you can do most of the balloons on this DVD!!

It shows you how to make: shark • dolphin • mermaid • surfer • tiki • duck • gator • one eyed monster • pirate • tower • swan • dragon

Twisted Critters Volume 3

Today, while looking through BalloonHQ's Photo data base I stumbled upon the portfolio of Patricia Bunnell. I really like her Animal and Character Hats. Apparently she has released how to DVDs Called "Twisted Critters". If you want to learn a ton of new balloon hats, I would definitely check it out.

Balloon Dress

Lately, I have seen more and more balloon dresses. Her is an idea, that as a guy, I would have never though of. Leave it to the The ~~Balloon Girls~~ to come up with a balloon dress.

The dresses look really complicated. It would definitely take a ~~balloon girl~~ to make one of these.

CORRECTION:The balloon dress is worn by Joann Gray but was created by Jeremy Johnson and Marie Dadow.

Balloon Characters of Park Hyun Gu

I recently came across photos of Park Hyun Gu's balloon cartoon characters while perusing the BalloonHQ Photos. He also has his site at www.balltoon.com

I am in awe. His characters are well developed. They look just like the character they are supposed to. I also like that he does baby versions of the characters. This is just a great idea. By doing a baby version, you use less balloons, it is smaller, it is cute, and I bet more people would want one.

Hats of Bonnie The Balloon Lady Volume 1

Bonnie, The Balloon Lady, has come out with a collection of PDF files that instruct how to make several large hats. Chicken hats, fish hats, frog hats, squid hats, .... There are a lot of hats in this PDF.

If you are bad at making hats, or just need some inspiration to get you going, then this is a resource you should invest in. Everyone knows that hats get the big tips in the restaurants, and for only $14.99 you can't beat the price.

So go to Bonnie The Balloon Lady Volume 1 and buy one already.

Ok, my guess is that if you have tried at all to learn about balloons you have stumbled on to this site.

Mbd2.com forum is ran by Dale Obrochta aka Magical Balloon-dude. The balloon forum is a great place to learn from the Pros, ask questions, and play fun games.

Dale does request a donation to help cover the costs of the forum. A donation gets you access to the chat room, the game and instruciton discussion, and other cool stuf.

This site is highly recomended.

Balloon Bass

I first stummbled upon this site while surfign youtube.com. Balloon Bass is the site of Addi Somekh. He has developed a method of making a balloon bass guitar/drum thing. I was very unimpressed until I listened to some of his recordings. He is good. Now, after trying to make one myself, I am in awe of how well he plays his balloon. This is one site you have to check out.

I'm posting the youtube clip wher he shows you how to make your very own balloon bass.

John Christianson balloonhq portfolio

John Christianson is a great balloon artst.

I really like his work. I first noticed his Muppets Parodies. They are so amazingly detailed.

I also really like his Batman and Spiderman masks.

I will definitely start incorporate his parodies into my own.

The Balloons R Fun Show

I recently came across this site. It is run by Stacey Krulewich, a balloon twister in Kansas City, Missouri. The main feature of this site is it's PodCast.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Stacey records a radio like show of about 15 minutes. In her show she reviews products, talks about topics that balloon twisters are concerned about, and interviews other balloon twisters. This site is a must see, err... Listen. I look forward to each show.

Stacey and her "Balloons are Fun Show" inspired me to do my video instructions website. I've always wanted to make a great balloon website that provided a service to the balloon twisting community, but never thought that anyone would appreciate all the work that went into it. After seeing the response that Stacey received, I got right to work.

So in a way, if you like my site, you should thank Stacey and her "Balloons R fun Show".

Mark email me in regards to the my "One hand balloon knot tie" instructions.

In his email he had his website which I took a look at. It gave me the idea of reviewing balloon sites that I come across.

It is his Balloon HQ portfolio.

He has a lot of great pictures. From the first glance you can tell he likes to make more complicated balloon sculptures. He has a lot of easily recognizable characters and parodies of people.

Although I think my favorite is his balloon motorcycle. It is about the same size as the one I make, but has way more detail. I love the engine and the exhaust pipes.

Mark, if you are reading this, I have to say, I'm very impressed.
