The Stooges
Harold Lloyd
Buster Keaton
Fatty Arbuckle

Lets keep it going

Ah! You left out Charlie Chaplin, didn't you? By the way, being the author of this particular thread, there's no need to start a new one.

Thanks for the food for thought.

I am not a clown. But I guess if things slow down or I can't make balloons anymore...I could be a clown.

There have been many successful clowns. I have met Bello Knock and he is incredible. It could lead to a successful
career for myself.....in politics.

For example, I can tell you that Laurel & Hardy are well-known clowns who never wore 'recognisable' costumes or make-up.

YUCK YUCK YUCK

I don't like makeup.

Women who wear to much makeup scary me Cheesy

If you're a clown, it's your decision when it comes to make-up. For example, you could just simply wear a nose and no make-up at all. Again, it's your decision.

In case nobody knows, the original Thomas stories were inspired by real-life goings-on (railway-based, of course) e.g. the basis for Steam Roller, one of the stories in Gallant Old Engine (RWS Vol. 17) as well as Series 4 (TV), came from an incident in Ireland where a steam roller crashed into the side of a train where the road and the railway ran parallel. How did Duck get his name? - You may ask. In the 1950s, the Rev. Awdry bought a locomotive for his model railway. When he found out that it waddled when it moved(!), his family named it Duck. Even it had been rectified some time later, the name still sticks to this day.
